Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero – A Film That Delivers on Action and Emotion!

Dragon Ball fans, get ready for an epic adventure as the latest film in the franchise, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, has finally hit the big screen! Directed by Tetsuro Kodama, produced by Toei Animation and written by Dragon Ball series creator Akira Toriyama, the film is a visual feast for fans of the series and a must-see for anyone who loves a good action-packed fantasy story.

The film follows Piccolo and his former student Gohan as they team up to save the world from the newly reformed Red Ribbon Army. The film introduces a new version of the villainous Cell and explores the relationship between Piccolo and Gohan, which is one of the most emotional and powerful parts of the film. The animation is top-notch, with stunning visual effects and fight scenes that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The film received positive reviews and grossed over $93 million worldwide, making it the second-highest grossing Dragon Ball film to date.

The film is the first to introduce a reiteration of Cell after the original Cell Saga. The character who was originally a human base of Android 21 from Dragon Ball FighterZ made a cameo appearance in this movie. It was originally set for release in Japan on April 22, 2022, but was instead released on June 11 due to a cyberattack at Toei Animation.

One of the highlights of the film is the relationship between Piccolo and Gohan, which is one of the most emotional and powerful parts of the story. Piccolo, who was once an enemy of the Dragon Ball heroes, has grown to care deeply for Gohan and wants to see him reach his full potential. On the other hand, Gohan, who has been struggling to find his purpose, finds new motivation in his training with Piccolo.

The film also explores the motivations of the new villain, Commander Magenta, CEO of Red Pharmaceuticals, who seeks to revive the Red Ribbon Army that his father, Commanders Red, led and was ultimately destroyed by Goku. The film also features the return of several fan-favorite characters, such as Bulma, Goten, Trunks, Android 18, and Krillin, who join the fight against the new enemy.

The film’s soundtrack is composed by the legendary Motoi Sakuraba, adding to the overall cinematic experience. The film’s key visual was revealed on September 7, 2022, and fans have been eagerly awaiting its release ever since. This is the first Dragon Ball film since 1996 to not be co-distributed by 20th Century Studios, whose Japanese assets were absorbed by Disney following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox.
